Butterfly Dunes is a gorgeous home and the ideal retreat for the traveler looking to unwind in private on a very large beach. This unique beachfront home has breathtaking views from every room, each with direct balcony access!
You are welcomed by the sound of the waves as soon as you walk onto the property, a truly heart-warming experience. The stairs leading to the main deck give you a full view of the beach. The wrap around deck gives you ample space to sunbathe or watch the waves roll onto shore. The deck has seating for 17 including a covered area with couch, an amazing bar, and a large outdoor dining table that seats 8. One of the unique things about this home is how forward it is to the beach relative to its adjacent neighbors. This allows for true 180-degree, uninterrupted views of ocean, beach and dunes making this property’s location a rare and envious one among Galveston beachfront homes.
From the moment you walk in, the large windows bring in natural light and make this home feel bright and cheerful. The open floor plan offers an airy feel to the clean, beachy décor of the home. The living room and dining areas provide ample seating for everyone. opposite the living room is a bedroom with a king bed and its own private exit to the main deck. There is a full bathroom beside it. The second level has a master king room with an added daybed and trundle. The Tempur-Pedic king is one small example of the high-end finishes provided for your comfort. The master has a private balcony and beautiful views of the water through the large windows. It has a master bath with double sinks, a jetted tub and a large walk-in closet. Down the hall, there is a room with a queen bed and a shared balcony with the fourth bedroom. The fourth bedroom is a paradise for kids and teens. There is a pyramid bunk (twin on top of full) and a bunk bed (twin on top of twin). The second level also has a laundry room with full sized washer and dryer and a large full bath.

Main Level: Open concept living room, dining, and kitchen; TV and DVD in the living room. Master Bedroom has a King bed and deck access. Upstairs: Master Bedroom 2 has a King bed, daybed with trundle, and master bath with a jetted tub. Private deck access. Bedroom 3 has a queen bed, shared balcony with 4th bedroom. Bedroom 4 features a Pyramid Bunk (1 Twin, 1 Full) and a bunk bed (twin over twin). There is an additional shared hallway bathroom. Location: 13.4-mile drive to 61st Street; 17.4-mile drive to 25th & Strand; 13.4 miles to Moody Gardens/Schlitterbahn Waterpark.
Notes: No garage access but there is a ground level closet offering guests use of owner’s beach chairs and beach toys.

Beautiful property and amenities. All as pictured in listing. Great kitchen with everything I needed to bake and prepare meals and treats. Lovely furnishings in every room. I felt like we were in one of my friends’ home. Views are beyond amazing throughout the house. Gorgeous sunrises from Primary bedroom. Location is good too. Also, easy , short drive to the Seawall restaurants. Good selection of local restaurants too. We have very large men (6’6”) in our family and the seating area in living room worked well. Very nice outdoor spaces too ,and accommodates everyone for dining, lounging and sunning. Separate spaces to get some reading and alone time as well. I can’t wait to return!! PS : Butterflies and dragon flies entertained along with sea birds. Recommend highly

Such a comfortable home stocked with anything you might need. It rained quite a bit while we were there, but we still thoroughly enjoyed our time just being together. The location and the beach access are perfect. Thanks to the owners for sharing their lovely home with us. We will be back.

The property really does have all you need, just bring your food and your all set. So many things they don't have listed on the website included both drip and Kcup coffee maker, lawn chairs, sand toys, charcoal BBQ all the pots and pans and dinner ware you would need. I would definitely rent this property again

The house is beautiful. There are tons of beach stuff for the kids and chairs, no need to bring that stuff. The house is supplied quite well with just about anything you'll need, just bring food. We had a family of 13, ranging from 58 to 6 months and we were all very comfortable and had so much fun.

We loved staying at Butterfly Dunes. It looks exactly like the pictures. It's amazing being so close to the beach. Keep in mind that you are about a 30 minute drive from downtown Galveston, but that didn't bother us. We had a baby along and the rental company provided us with a pack n play (though no sheets so keep that in mind if you also do this). Gary Greene rental company is super responsive and helpful. There were several big storms during our stay and the house leaked in several spots. I notified them by email and I got a call back about sending someone out to fix it. We ended up having them wait to send someone until after our stay since it wasn't supposed to rain anymore, but someone was going to come quickly. Lots of things included like beach toys/chairs, beach towels, tons of extra sunscreen, drink cups, great coffee mugs and coffee/tea. We really enjoyed our stay!

Beautiful, spacious, well equipped, comfortable. It was perfect in every way…everything we needed and more. Books, games, movies, cooking supplies. Close enough to Seawall yet far enough for more privacy and the feel of a secluded beach :) Just watch out for snakes in dunes!4/23/2022 at 11:54 AM

We're so glad you enjoyed your time at Butterfly Dunes - we think it's the perfect vacation home as well. Unfortunately, we do share the island with snakes. They are usually sighted in and around the dunes. Staying clear of the dunes and staying on crossovers or footpaths is your best bet.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Butterfly Dunes! The property was right on the beach, tastefully decorated, with gorgeous decks and wonderful views of the ocean. Communication with the property manager was efficient and quick. Only recommendation would be to highlight the many amenities that come with the property (Kuerig coffee machine, tons of beach towels, yeti coolers, spices & herbs for cooking…and so on) - these were not listed either in the vrbo description or in the contract…4/20/2022 at 11:32 AM

Description and pictures are accurate! Things we loved: walk out the back door onto the beach, quiet neighborhood, peaceful beach, beautiful decor. All the extras that we weren’t anticipating but we’re pleasantly surprised: yeti cups for adult beverages on the beach! Beach chairs and tons of sand toys, books, games, all the pots and pans you could need, clean and new, 3 coffee maker options, blender, cute plates and glassware, beach towels. Loved the outside shower! Loved the patio furniture on the deck! Beds were nice and comfortable, pillows new and nice. Beautiful sunrises at this location, especially viewed from the master bedroom balcony. Only suggestion we would make would be to put tvs in the bedrooms and upgrade the cable offering (we stayed during the final 4 of basketball and couldn’t get the games!) But totally minor on the scale of how great the property is! Would stay again!4/10/2022 at 5:43 PM

Beautiful property. Clean, well equipped, spacious, comfortable. Perfect ocean view/ beachfront experience. Close enough to all that you need, yet far enough from Seawall to feel seclusion/ privacy. Be cautious of snakes in the dunes under the boardwalk.

Butterfly Dunes is a wonderful property - only steps from the beach. It is beautifully decorated and very clean. The property owners thought of everything to ensure our comfort. I would highly recommend to this property. This is where I would want to stay if we make a return visit. It is a little off the beaten path, but this allowed us to have an an almost private beach. Fantastic!

We loved this property!! It is pure luxury! The pictures of the inside are spot on. The furniture was beautiful but comfy and cozy. The bedrooms were big and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with high end dishes and cookware. We stopped by the grocery store and enjoyed cooking in this kitchen overlooking the ocean. It was the perfect place to relax on our girls winter beach trip. There were only 5 of us this time but definitely want to bring the rest of the family back. There is plenty of room! This experience has been absolutely outstanding - starting with the actual rental process and finishing with the beautiful home. Gary Greene Vacation Rentals was beyond professional and gave clear instructions throughout the process. The home is fabulous, one of my favorite rentals ever. Well-stocked doesn't describe it adequately, it literally has everything you need, rare in today's rental culture. The house is airy, beachy and decorated tastefully. It was spotless upon arrival. The deck outside and location on the beach can't be beat. Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful home with us. We had many laughs and made many memories, despite the cold and fog;).
